The church
reached its present architectural form in the mid century, but
for many centuries had been refitted the existing Constantinian
basilica. Remains of the construction of the fourth century can
be seen inside the church, which retained two Corinthian
capitals, one of which overlap a column that, in fact, combines
two floors of new construction. |

The various
parchments, stored in capuano, show that this church was called
"Ecclesia S. Herasmi into chapters "so near the place where,
they say, stood the old Capitol. "In the district of S. Erasmo
are located the public monuments of Capua: The Capitolium, the
theater (and theater) and the baths. First of not remain on
track because it was built in medieval times, the tower of St
Erasmus. "This is confirmed by numerous studies and found many
elements of the factory, many statues and marble columns." Di
great importance is the theater to its proportions (44.25 m
radius) were adapted to a big city. |
